Make the Change that Others Experience

Executive Roles

Vice President of Operations

​Maintain, create, and check email, Google Forms, Linktree, Google Docs, and Google Sheets. â€‹â€‹â€‹

​

Time commitment: ~2–3 hours/week; fluctuates and flexible. 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage and update Google Forms, Google Docs, and Google Sheets

  • Track participation, retention, outreach, and feedback

  • Ensure smooth execution of each cycle​​

Vice President of Chapters

 Manage growth of local chapters, train chapter leaders on their roles. 

​

Time commitment: ~2–3 hours/week; fluctuates and flexible. 

Responsibilities 

  • Launch and support school or regional chapters

  • Help approve chapter applications

  • Train chapter leaders

  • Monitor chapter activity

  • Maintain Google Docs on how to start chapters, succeed, etc. 

  • Possibly help lead Zoom meetings with chapter heads

  • Possibly help lead regional chapter levels â€‹

Vice President of Outreach & Partnerships

Manage recruitment and external relations. 

​

Time commitment: ~2-3 hours/week; fluctuates and flexible. 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead student recruitment strategy

  • Contact schools, youth orchestras, and other music programs

  • Build and maintain partnerships

  • Help obtain funding

  • Work closely with the Social Media team 

  • Possibly work with Chapter VP to help chapters secure funding â€‹â€‹

Vice President of Digital Systems

Manage all digital accounts, mainly the website. â€‹

Time commitment: ~1–2 hours/week; fluctuates and flexible. 

Responsibilities 

  • Help update and maintain our website

  • Organize Google Drive and internal documents

  • Maintain and organize our Notion

  • Support tech needs for execs and chapters

  • Possibly work with developers to move away from our website builder â€‹

Vice President of Social Media

​Manage our online presence on social media. 

​

Time commitment: ~1–2 hours/week 

Responsibilities 

  • Run and maintain our Instagram account and Linktree 

  • Follow similar organizations, chapter leaders, execs, and maintain a consistent/professional followers to following ratio 

  • Schedule and post curated content 

  • Respond to DMs and inquiries when possible

  • Work with the VP of outreach/partnerships â€‹

Chapter Leaders

Chapter Leaders help bring Side by Side to their school and region, mostly focusing on outreach. Leaders can create chapter-specific matching systems, so all partners will be from the same area. ​

Specific Tasks

  • Report to executive leaders on reach, partnerships, etc. 

  • Run region-specific social media account 

  • Host Chapter-specific events like practice challenges, tutoring younger students, etc. and receive help/mentoring from executive officers.

  • Gain experience in recruitment, organization, and communication

  • Eligibility for future national-level executive roles

  • Network with motivated student musicians nationwide

  • Receive help from executive leaders and musicians nationally
